About Scott Gore
After high school, Scott enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1978 and served his country for four years as an Electrician’s Mate. He achieved the rank of Second Class Petty Officer and served on the USS Nassau pre-com crew for 3 years and travelled around the world
When his enlistment ended and he was discharged, Scott enrolled at James Madison University (JMU) in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He earned a BBA in Accounting, and also served as The Navigators student President on campus while working a variety of part time jobs during his 4 years at JMU. After graduation in May 1986, Scott took a job with one of the Big 4 Accounting firms, KPMG Peat Marwick, in the Auditing department and also began to volunteer as a Young Life leader. Scott found his calling in helping people, and joined the Young Life Urban training program where he learned how to reach out to inner city youth and share love and hope with them. For the next eleven years Scott would serve inner city youth and their families in the heart of inner city Norfolk, Virginia. One of those years, Scott was a foster parent for two teenage boys (Luke and Pete). The majority of his ministry was focused at Booker T. Washington High School and in a public housing project called Tidewater Park where Scott and his family lived for 2 years. In 1998, he had the opportunity to join The Salvation Army as the Development Director for the Tidewater Area Command. After a year and a half of successful service, Scott was promoted to Divisional Director of Major Gifts. Shortly after that Scott was asked to join the I’m Third Foundation (now the Kids Across America (KAA) Foundation) as the Senior Assistant to the President. While at KAA, Scott was instrumental in helping to secure many major gifts. In 2002, Scott joined Frontiers and for 7 years did organizational fundraising and development, staff fundraising training and recruiting, as well as participating in and leading services trips to hard places like Pakistan, Lebanon, Tunisia, etc. In 2010, Scott started in-fusion Consulting Services to help all people reach their highest potential and fulfill all the dreams that God has for them and has helped many non-profit staff and organizations raise money by providing Training, Consulting, Mentoring and Coaching. He's helped several hundred workers get fully funded and to their ministry assignments. Scott loves running, weight lifting, biking, reading, listening to books, craft painting, watching movies and TV shows, and taking photos. Scott’s written numerous poems and screenplays, and in the past 2 years, he's sold 5 feature screenplays and one (Instant Karma) has already been produced as a movie: ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLfrmUW3Uwc.
